It was the first place she could think of. The corner store seemed to have a fair few customers so she assumed - and hoped - that it would be a good decision. Madeline leant her back against the wall and crossed her feet over casually, standing by the door to the store. She glanced up at the dark and overcast sky whilst tuning her violin, running the horsehair reed across the strings to create a low and smooth sound. Hoisting the small instrument under her chin, her gaze returned down to the empty violin case at her feet as she began to play a slow tune. Business would always be slow on a Monday, but hopefully she'd make a penny or two at the least before being asked to leave by the shopkeeper.

Madeline looked up when she heard the coins ching together upoon landing in the violin case. Her right hand stopped the movement of the horse reed and she nodded in the silence. "My name is Madeline. Yours?" She asked fairly confidently, a thick British accent lacing her words.

Autumn stopped at the sound of music and brazenly walked towards the store. "Hello."

(( Ohai!! )) Madeline turned her attention to the two other's who had arrived by the store. "Thank you." She smiled, referring to the donation they had made. "I might try there soon, this corner shop just seemed to bee a good place to start." She lightly shrugged, standing up properly and taking the violin down from her chin to make it easier to talk. "But yes, I am. To be quite honest, i'm still searching for a place to sleep. You wouldn't know anywhere decent, would you?" She asked curiously, moving a strand of hair from her eyes and tucking it behind her ear.

"I guess so," Madeline nodded slightly, looking back down at the few coins in her violin case. She placed the small, wooden instrument back under her chin but didn't play anything just yet, running a few tunes through her head first. Madeline honestly felt like giving up and just going home to sleep, but had to keep reminding herself that she didn't have a home to sleep in. "Well, as soon as you find someone, let me know." She lifted her head up to give Cantra a small half-smile, possibly even a smirk in the corner of her mouth.

Autumn snapped out of her haze. "Wait, you need a place to stay? Well, I suppose you could stay in that room in the old barn...that's where I keep my materials." she offered, gesturing down the road to her residential business and the old, converted barn which flanked it.

Madeline listened carefully to the new information. She looked over to where Autumn was pointing and smiled a little. "You wouldn't mind? It would help me a lot." She commented, glad to be finally making some progress.

Madeline smiled nonetheless. "Well, wherever i stay; I thank you all for your hospitality." She nodded a little, kneeling down to pick up the coins and slip each one into a small black pouch tied to the side of her short, torn skirt. She cracked her knuckles before holding her violin with both hands, holding the neck carefully so that her fingerless glove didn't catch on the strings. She placed it in the case before lifting it back up as he stood, holding the handle with both hands.

"Cantra, it doesn't look like a barn anymore. Obviously." snapped Autumn, handing Madeline another coin and Cantra a covered basket, which turned out to contain an assortment of buns and cookies. "Here, I made these last night."

Madeline bit her lip through a smile. "Thank you, so so much. She nodded the slightest, pocketing the coin. Changing hands so she was holding the violin case with one instead of both, Madeline tied her pouch back up. "I'm just looking forward to sleeping indoors tonight." She laughed a little, crossing her feet over again.

Peter steps into the shop slowly, minding his own business. He just needed a new paintbrush, his other one having snapped from age. His clothing was rather different to that of a normal man of wealthy origin, the sleeves of his white shirt had become dirty, so he cut them shorter and shorter untill they just weren't there anymore. Peter said it was his mind running away from him that made him so different to normal folk.

Madeline stepped to the side as Peter walked into the store. Yes, she understood the fact that she looked like a well-kept tramp, but that was no excuse for no manners. She was a lady and that was that. "Watch where you're going." She murmured, glaring daggers at the man.

"I'm sorry." Peter was quick to apologise, "I hadn't seen you there." he explains, and he honestly hadn't seen her. It was obvious that the lady didn't like him, so he just continued what he was doing, searching for a brush with the right bristles.

"Another artist? At last!" laughed Autumn, having noticed the newcomer's search through the paintbrushes. "Try these." She handed him an assortment of brushes and pointed to several. Seeming to catch herself, she quickly added, "Oh-I'm Autumn Oxana. I'm the seamstress here in Rosewood, but I do some designs and...other...art of my own."

Peter looks at the brushes for a moment before smiling and looking up at Autumn. "Thankyou. It's just what I was looking for." he says softly, holding his hand out to shake, "My name's Peter. Peter Baines. I'm a painter."

Madeline frowned gently, leaning against the doorframe of the corner shop. She watched the two, glancing around the shop for a moment before stepping back outside. She could smell something sweet nearby, guessing it was a bakery down the road. Now actually having enough money to buy instead of steal, Madeline made her way towards the pie shop to leave Peter and Autumn by theirselves.

(( OOC: I don't think they'd have photographs in this period of time. Especially not in a rural town. P: ))
"Um, yes, right... I was going to do a painting of the creek nearby and I'm afraid if I dawdle I'll miss it." he says softly, "So I'd like to just purchase this, then be off."
